Responsible for protecting the palaces of the British monarchy as well as providing for ceromonial duties, the guards have become a staple of London and can be found in many locations including Buckingham Palace, St James's Palace and Windsor Castle.

Unbeknownst to many, the role of the King's Guards is carried out by regular soldiers of the British army, usually from one of the 5 regiments of foot guards, though other British and Commonwealth units have performed the duty over the years.
